Mendacities: Because Life is not a Big-Budget Movie

Welcome to Mendacities, website—quiet and unassuming home of Mendacities, the quiet and unassuming novel.

Mendacities cover imageWhat is this Mendacities thing, exactly? A deeply moving, highly entertaining, very amusing, and mildly dystopian novel about three slightly eccentric rural high-school students who inadvertently discover the details of a somewhat sinister political conspiracy — details which could, unfortunately, very easily cost them their lives. To save their families—and themselves—they embark on a grand (if ill-conceived) plot to expose the conspiracy, or at least try to. Various adventures and hijinks, including the accidental (or at least not-entirely-intentional) overthrow of the national government, ensue.

It’s highly entertaining. Honestly. (Would I lie to you?) But you needn’t take my word for it; you can read the first three chapters right here (4MB PDF file), exactly as they appear in the printed paperback book. Or you can read a much larger preview of the e-book edition at this website, or download the first couple chapters of the e-book edition at this link (also a PDF file). (Why two different editions? This should explain it.) You can also check out the various updates and things, or subscribe to the RSS feed to be automagically notified of news and so on.

Mendacities: 68,000 words, 234 pages of action, adventure, violence, underage drinking, and casual nudity. One heck of an entertaining novel, in other words, and loved by everyone who has read it… which could still include you!
